I was born in Fresno, California on May 24th, 1994. I was adopted by two wonderful parents at the age of 6 weeks old, and I believe I was born to heal. I currently reside in Washington State with my parents Dave and Peggy and our fuzzy 8 year old Black Labrador retriever, Tess.
Ever since I was five years old, I've loved figure skating. The grace, the thrill. In March of 2007 I discovered my idols Ekaterina Gordeeva and Sergei Grinkov, four-time World Champions, two-time Olympic Gold Medalists. They opened my eyes to see how great I was, how much I could give to the world.
I've spent the past three years discovering myself in more ways than the average teenager has. I've figured out my future career path, reached new heights in my maturity, and learned how to love and give back. I'm just your average 28 year old!
I used to figure skate myself, but quit in July of 2009 to pursue other interests.
I'm a sophomore in high school. I am part of a 4-days-a-week, 3-hours-a-day exclusive high school focusing around the creative arts. Read more about it here.
I'm passionate about food. I LOVE it. I could eat, and eat, and eat. In November of 2008 I was diagnosed as being allergic to the protein in Cow's milk, therefore most of the recipes in my cooking category are vegan, or Cow's milk free. I am a pescetarian - so they're free of meat as well!
I have experienced my good share of health complications over the course of my life.
In 2001 was diagnosed with a hereditary case of asthma, medium stage. It took a toll on my body. Coughing attacks, breathing attacks, scares concerning trips to the emergency room. I battled it for six years and it finally gave in to treatment. I still have a bad cough that can be dangerous when I catch a cold.
In 2005 I was diagnosed with a severe anxiety disorder I've had my entire life that causes separation/generalized anxiety, and causes me to be unable to live life like a normal teenager. I take part in art and emotional therapy.
As of 2010, I currently work on coping with a nonverbal learning disability (ex: someone who relies on landmarks while driving, not verbal directions such as "turn right" - more like "turn over by the mall"). This causes me to do poorly on a wide variety of comprehension, yet I am still in the average norm for most every kind of thinking.
I have also suffered from a minor physical illness (I choose not to blog to the public about) since 2007 with several diagnoses, but no cure. I'm standing tall and not giving up on hope for any of my health-related negatives.
I enjoy photography and I snap photographs whenever I can. It keeps me active and busy. I currently use an Olympus FE-340 model and several photo editing programs. I hope to get a fancy Nikon camera quite soon.
I don't approve in religion nor am I religious. Some people dub me "agnostic". I am spiritual and I do praise God, who for me is not Jesus Christ. I will accept other people's religions, but I don't like to make too much conversation about the general topic or who's right and wrong. I try to make this blog as nonreligious as I can for the consideration of others. *I don't find it attractive when people focus their websites around their religion.
I'm not so picky about my taste in music; I'll go for anything as long as it's not heavy metal, opera or from some peculiar foreign country (marimba, being the only exception). My favorites are pop, rock (especially the classics such as Queen or Bon Jovi), country, R&B, dance/techno, and some light metal. I adore The Beatles and Michael Jackson. Vienna Teng and Sarah Brightman are a couple of soft favorites.
I am strongly against the use of recreational drugs including marijuana, and do not smoke cigarettes. I rarely (if ever - usually holidays) drink alcohol. I am also an advocate for safe sex and abstinence.
For me, being right has always been a huge factor in how I react to certain situations, as is true for numerous other people. I have a weak spot admitting I'm wrong, but can do it without flaw. I am quick with words, witty and a fast-thinker. I am stubborn, defensive, and very outspoken. Yet in all my craziness, I am very sentimental, sweet, generous, helpful and often said to be quite mature and "old-souled". I'm not perfect, as there is no such thing. I will never act perfect, and I will never find it snobby to know who you are and what you want in life.
I've always been different from the other kids in some way. As much as I may look the part, I can't tolerate ignorance or innocence. They have always been traits I've never favored. Titled "The Three I's": ignorance, innocence and immaturity are my pet peeves. I can eat vegetarian sushi all day, it's delish. If there is one thing I love to boast about it's the fact that I was never once told to go clean my room (because I'm gifted in the realm of cleaning)! Call me crazy, but I've never had Chinese food, even though it is the most beneficial for me. I have also met 12 celebrities including Olympic Bronze Medalist Jozef Sabovcik and magicians Penn & Teller!
I am best known as a figure skating montage creator on YouTube, but I'm also known as a poet and now as a blogger. I hope you enjoy me and all of my art. I can't wait to hear your feedback.
